How Levy Funds Must Be Used
Under the ballot proposition, levy revenue would be restricted to the following purposes, stated here as adopted in the ballot language:

OFFICIAL BALLOT — BUILDING RESERVE LEVY PROPOSITION
Shall the Board of Trustees of Swan River School District No. 4, Flathead County, Montana, be authorized to establish a building reserve subfund by raising a total of $1,500,000 over a period of 10 years, to be collected in annual, equal installments of approximately $150,000 through the imposition of approximately 10.07 mills annually, for the purposes of replacing furnaces with energy-efficient heat pumps; improving ventilation and energy efficiency; improving school safety and security, including entrances, access control systems, and other building security improvements; and paying architectural, engineering, inspection, and other costs incidental to those purposes?
An increase in property taxes may lead to an increase in rental costs.
If this proposition is approved, the estimated additional annual property taxes that would be imposed are:
- Residence with a market value of $100,000: $7.65
- Residence with a market value of $300,000: $22.96
- Residence with a market value of $600,000: $49.05
